What is CamTran PAY?

CamTran PAY is Cambria County’s new cashless fare system that offers a simple new way to buy tickets and passes, add funds, and track rides: all in one place. There are three ways you can buy and validate fares and passes:

• Download the CamTran PAY app;
• Get a CamTran PAY plastic smart card;
• Purchase bus fare with cash.

The benefits of CamTran PAY are:

• Buy passes on the go;
• Navigate bus routes with built-in trip planner;
• Enjoy contactless verification;
• Avoid carrying and counting cash;
• Reduce boarding time;
• Reload account or card easily.

Who is CamTran PAY for?

• Regular Riders: All fixed-route riders can use CamTran PAY starting July 6. Sign up early and be ready.
• Seniors (65+): Nothing changes for you. Just show your state-issued Senior Card to the driver when you board. No CamTran PAY account needed.
• Reduced Fare Riders: Action required by June 30. Register for CamTran PAY or get a smart card before June 30 to avoid any service disruption. Your discount applies automatically once set up.
• Visitors & Occasional Riders: Download the app, grab a smart card at any location, or pay cash with exact change when you board.
• Community Partners: Organizations that assist riders can contact CamTran about bulk and partner options.

How to use CamTran PAY?

THE 3 WAYS TO USE CamTran PAY

1. CamTran PAY Mobile Application

How to buy a ticket or pass:

• Download the CamTran PAY mobile app from the App Store or Google Play Store;
• Open the app and select the Tickets tab;
• Choose the desired ticket or pass and follow instructions to complete the purchase.

How to reload your account with e-wallet:

• Go to the Tickets tab and select Travel with Wallet.
• If you are using the “Top up” feature for the first time, select “Top up”, enter bank card information, and proceed to payment.
• If you have already used the “Top up” feature, to reload your balance, select the + icon next to the balance, follow the on-screen prompts, and scan the QR code on the bus validator.

Reload your account at one of CamTran’s three locations listed below.

• CamTran PAY Mobile App:

Download the app and connect your account using the email used when buying your smart card. Then select a ticket or a pass and follow the instructions to complete the purchase.

• CamTran PAY Online:

Visit pay.camtranbus.com and sign in by entering the email address used when registering your smart card. Then choose your desired ticket or pass and follow the instructions to complete the purchase.

3. Paper Ticket

How to buy a paper ticket:

• Enter exact change into the bus farebox located next to the operator;
• Visit one of CamTran’s three locations listed below.

How to use your paper ticket:

Account Use: To use and connect the mobile app, smart card, and/or online reload, you must use the same email address across the system. If using social login, make sure your social profile is linked to the same email address.

Transfers:

To transfer, keep your paper ticket and scan the QR code on the next bus validator. Your transfer is valid for 120 minutes after you validate your ticket and can only be used to continue your trip in the same direction, not for a return trip.

Reduced Fare:

Visit one of CamTran’s three locations listed below and present proper identification and documentation to purchase reduced tickets or passes. The reduced fare card is for people with disabilities and is not a discount card. This does not apply to ages 5 or under.
